Policy Officer (Housing and Social Care)

Just for Kids Law are recruiting for a Policy Officer (Housing and Social Care) to join their small but influential Policy and Public Affairs Directorate, which also includes CRAE. Using a child rights framework and evidence from the organisation’s direct practice, the Directorate undertakes influential lobbying work at a domestic and international level to ensure children’s rights are fully respected.

The successful candidate will have some experience of working on relevant policy issues relating to children and young people’s social care and/or housing. They will have a good understanding of the policy making process, how to influence decision makers at both a national and local level and how to work with young people affected by the issues to campaign for change.

They will be extremely motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Child Rights Monitoring and Implementation), the post holder will also support our child rights monitoring work, including contributing to reports submitted to UN human rights treaty monitoring mechanisms.

Apply with CV and cover letter through CharityJob website by 11:30pm on 21 July.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 7th August 2019.
