20-20: Celebrating great achievements - or missed opportunities?
Looking back at 20 years of the UNCRC
CRAE's annual conference was held last year on 20 November 2009 - the 20th anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Speakers included: Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green (Children's Commissioner for England), Christine Gilbert (Her Majesty's Chief Inspector, Ofsted), Kathleen Marshall (former Scottish Commissioner for Children & Young People) as well as many young children's rights activists.
Other contributors included: Sue Berelowitz (Deputy Children’s Commissioner & Chief Executive, 11 MIILLION), Dr Jane Boylan (Senior Lecturer in Social Work, Keele University), Ravi Chandiramani (Editor of Children & Young People Now) Dr Jane Dalrymple (Senior Lecturer in Social Work, University of the West of England), Barbara Hearn (Deputy Chief Executive, National Children’s Bureau), Sally Ireland (Chair of Standing Committee for Youth Justice), Professor Francesca Klug (Professorial Research Fellow, LSE), Dr Roger Morgan (Children's Rights Director for England) and Mary Riddell (Assistant Editor, Daily Telegraph).
