Beyond article 12
The report, called: “Beyond article 12: The local implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in England” is available as a pdf for downloading from the link below. This report examines how the UNCRC is being put into practice, and whether it is having an impact on the development, commissioning and delivery of local services. CRAE has now written to every director of children’s services enclosing a copy of this report. Mike Lindsay said:
“This survey interestingly reveals a wide variation across the country, with some local authorities clearly engaging well in taking forward children’s rights, whilst others are recognising that they still have some work to do. CRAE, as acknowledged experts in the field, will support those local authorities wanting to identify areas for improvement on children’s rights and to develop this aspect of their work”.
