State of children's rights report

Every five years, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child issues a comprehensive report on the UK’s implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The UN Committee’s 'concluding observations' set out the actions required by government to make a reality of children’s human rights in the UK.

After the 2002 concluding observations were issued, CRAE decided to publish an annual ‘State of children's rights in England’ report to show key developments – positive as well as negative – in children’s human rights over the previous 12 months.  We have produced a report every year since then.

Our most recent State of Children's Rights Report, published in November 2008, includes the concluding observations published by the UN Committee in October 2008 following its most recent examination of the UK.
